Skate Like a Girl × Nike SB Dunk Low Pro is coming in 2022!
Skate Like a Girl, a skateboarding community with three branches in Seattle, Portland and the San Francisco Bay Area, and Nike’s skateboarding line Nike SB have collaborated on the Dunk Low Pro trainer, which will be released in India in 2022.
Skate Like a Girl is a non-profit organisation founded in 2000 by Holly Sheehan and Fleur Larsen, who were students at The Evergreen State College in Washington, D.C., when they questioned the lack of girls and women in skate culture. Feeling accepted by people of all genders, they learn confidence, leadership and social justice through skateboarding and foster a culture that embraces diversity through these diverse programs.
The pair leaked and based on the SB low-cut model of the popular Dunk trainer, first introduced by Nike in 1985, the Skate Like a Girl x Nike SB Dunk Low Pro features an off-white coloured velvet material with a burgundy overlay, while the side Swoosh logo and the shoe tongue are made of corduroy. The Skate Like a Girl branding on the shoe tongue label and the NIKE logo on the heel patch have been replaced with a wavy font, similar to the Community, with an embroidered handshake motif underneath. A white midsole and gum outsole add a classic look to the shoe’s design.
